Manel Milà has been appointed Managing Director of General Cable Europe to replace Domingo Goenaga, who has become company president. Milà will manage General Cable’s business in Europe and will oversee the companies in Spain, France, Germany and Portugal and their subsidiaries.

General Cable’s new Managing Director is an industrial engineer with a long track record in the electrical cable sector, in which he has occupied several positions of responsibility in technical, industrial and logistical areas. He was the Industrial Director and subsequently Managing Director of the company Pirelli Cables y Sistemas España. He also has executive experience in the consumer product commercialisation sector.

General Cable’s operations have expanded a great deal in the last two years. The acquisition of Silec, in France, has enabled it to round off its range of products with very high voltage cables. Recently, the purchase of NSW in Germany, has allowed it to supply underwater cables for wind turbines and offshore platforms.
