General Cable, the leading company in the international cable sector, is one of the firms selected by the CRF Organisation as being among those which will lead the Spanish economy in the future. The selection was made based on criteria of excellence in business practices by means of a study coordinated by Deloitte. General Cable shares this distinction with prestigious companies from other sectors, such as Abertis, Banc Sabadell, Codorniu, FCC, Indra, La Caixa, Mapfre, Novartis, Repsol YPF and Telefónica, among others.

The selection made by CRF presents those domestic companies destined to be leaders in the future, with special attention being paid to five benchmark criteria: the firm’s establishment in the market, a coherent strategy, a solid financial position, priority attention to human resources and a consolidated innovation process. The panel of experts taking part in the selection study included renowned lecturers from business schools, such as Pedro Nueno, Nuria Chinchilla and Pablo Fernández (all from the IESE), Pascual Montañés (from the Instituto de Empresa) and Ivana Casaburi (from ESADE)

The selection of companies with the most promising future is presented in the form of a book, with a chapter devoted to each one of the firms selected. The texts were written by a team of journalists specialising in economics, who visited the companies in question and interviewed their executives. The book “Las empresas con más futuro” (“Companies with the most promising Future”) was officially launched at the recent Expomanagement Fair, and a special presentation for the communication media was also given.
